Legal Fees
Fees are discussed transparently in light of the scope of the requested legal work and the circumstances of the matter.
How are legal fees determined?
A legal fee is discussed in light of the nature and scope of the requested work and the terms agreed between the parties. A specific amount can only be discussed once the matter and required work are understood.
Fee agreement and minimum tariff
Article 164 of the Attorneyship Law addresses attorney fees and their determination; the agreed fee may not be below the applicable minimum attorney fee tariff. The current amount and how it applies to a particular matter are assessed once the scope of work is established.
Attorneyship Law No. 1136, art. 164
Matter-related expenses
Any court or procedural expenses in addition to the legal fee, and how they are handled, are explained separately in light of the work and the parties’ agreement.
